Planting saplings along the main road, with volunteers taking responsibility for watering.
Saplings will be planted along the main road, starting from the bus stop.
The planting is the easy part. The reason earlier attempts failed is that nobody watered the saplings after the first month, so this time each sapling will be adopted by a household or a family that agrees to water it through the dry season.
What to bring
- A spade if you have one
- Water, for yourself as much as for the saplings
Adopting a sapling
Speak to a volunteer on the day. Your name goes against the sapling, which is the only enforcement mechanism that has ever worked here.
